How camera-shy are you, really?
You are not camera-shy so much as instruction-starved. Told exactly what to do with your chin, your weight and your hands, you photograph well immediately.
Book a photographer who directs continuously, and say so when you enquire. The phrase to use is: “I need to be told what to do.” It is a completely normal request and it changes how the session is run — closer, more verbal, more feedback between frames.
Weight onto the back foot, so you stop standing square. Chin forward and slightly down, which removes the softness under the jaw that people blame on their face. And something in the hands — a jacket, a cup, a lapel — because hands with no task are the single most common reason a portrait looks stiff.
Group shoots and rushed one-hour bookings. Both remove the thing you need most, which is somebody's full attention for long enough to settle.
The quiz asks 8 questions. Every answer carries a weight, and this result covers scores from 14 to 21 out of a possible 31. Landing here means your answers clustered in that band rather than at either extreme — the bands exist because the useful advice genuinely differs between them, not to flatter anyone.
The scoring happens in your browser. No answer is transmitted, stored or attached to you; the quiz simply opens the fixed page matching your band.
